3+ BR | 2 BA | 1,794 SF | 3,298 SF Lot
Listed @ $950,000

Built in 1925, this gorgeous Mediterranean is situated on a corner lot along a peaceful tree lined street in Alameda’s sought-after East End neighborhood. This picturesque home is also within close proximity to Alameda’s top schools, picturesque Lincoln Park and downtown Park Street.

The home itself offers formal living and dining rooms, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an eat-in kitchen, a bonus room (that meets the City of Alameda’s requirements for a bedroom), a laundry room and a 2-car garage.

Stepping into the foyer, an artisan light fixture illuminates the rich matchstick hardwood floors, warmly painted walls and original gumwood trim. The spacious and light filled formal living room is defined by a bay of spectacular floor to ceiling windows overlooking the landscaped front yard. The fireplace boasts a stunning facade, topped with a generous wood mantle and two large windows on either side which further enhance and frame the fireplace.

The living room opens into the dining room, with an expansive wall of casement windows, gumwood trim & high baseboards. Textured elements blend the living room and the dining room with coved ceilings and a softly arched and sculpted entryway between the two rooms.

Beyond the dining room is the sunny kitchen with a stainless steel dual oven and gas range and freshly painted cabinets that reach to the ceiling. The spacious breakfast nook off of the kitchen is perfect for morning relaxing.

The upper level of the home features three spacious bedrooms, two of which face out to beautiful views of the backyard foliage. All upstairs bedrooms provide ample windows, hardwood floors, and high baseboards. The upstairs bathroom is situated along the upstairs hallway and has been updated with tile flooring, a pedestal sink, a bathtub/shower combo and built-in storage.

The lower level has a bonus room (that meets the City of Alameda bedroom requirements), perfect for an additional bedroom, private office or playroom. An additional full bathroom is also located on this level with hex tile flooring, a stall shower and a pedestal sink. The laundry room features large storage closets as well as a wash sink for additional convenience. A one light door from the laundry room leads out to the peaceful backyard with a lawn, mature foliage and a patio area.

The lower level also provides interior access to the 2-car garage, which is drywalled and has an automatic garage door opener for easy access. The partial basement also provides additional storage space beyond the 2-car garage.

2940 Lincoln is an exceptional home in a wonderful location, and offers easy access to top-performing schools, BART, I-880, SF Ferry, the Google & Apple shuttles and Oakland International Airport.

Neighborhood

Alameda

Alameda was once a peninsula connected to the Oakland docks. In 1902, a canal was dredged to enable easier shipping access, and that turned Alameda into an island. A little off the beaten track, Alameda has a laid-back vibe all its own. Despite its 80,000 residents, there's still a small-town feeling in Alameda.

A 4th of July Parade, complete with horse-drawn carriages, embodies the small-town feel in Alameda, which has preserved much of its Victorian housing stock, cottages, and central, walkable shopping district along Park Street. The Alameda Theater on Park Street was restored to its art deco glory. Civic pride runs high here; formerly the Carnegie Library, the Alameda Free Library was transformed into a multimillion-dollar showplace that earned a Silver LEED certification. Kids play soccer on former parade grounds of the converted army barracks. Crown Memorial State Beach and Shoreline Drive attract wind surfers.

With more than 10,000 buildings constructed before 1930, there is a rich and varied architectural heritage in the area playing a role in Alameda's real estate market conditions. Historic Queen Anne's, more than 1,500 ornately decorated Victorians, and California Craftsmans are some of the most desirable homes here along its tree-lined streets.
